Disclaimer stated, Mission Statement recited and core principles declared, and it was time for a 2+ lap mosi around the parking lot including high knees, butt kickers, nur and side shuffle and then over to the echo chamber for a round of Speed COP, or Shared Leadership COP.  Q calls out an exercise, IC, and once halted, a pax in the circle calls out SSH IC x10, immediately followed by the Q again.  COP included:

It was time for the Thang.  After a short mosi over to the basketball courts, the pax were split into two squadrons.  A deck of cards were placed on a bench across the park.  One Pax member would run to retrieve a card. Each card included an exercise with the reps to be done and an exercise to be executed while the next pax member gets the next card.  The runner cannot leave until all pax on their squadron have completed the reps.  Team that ends with the most cards win.  Exercises and reps were as follows:

  • Sumo Squats x30/Lunges
  • 20 Diamond Merkins/LBCs
  • 25 Burpees/Overhead Claps
  • 40 SSH IC/American Hammers
  • 25 Mountain Climbers IC/Calf Raises

  • 1 Lap Run/Shoulder Taps
  • 25 Partner Merkins/Box Cutters

With 20 minutes remaining, a second round was started with a much shorter run for the cards.

Next up, it’s time for a Tunnel of Love.  Squadrons line up, shoulder to shoulder and plank.  First pax army crawls under the planking pax until all pax have crawls under.  Much entertainment with this one.

Last up was a 4-minute round of Mary that included Merkins, SSH, Crunchy Frogs, and a few other exercises.

8am hit and the pax were thrilled to be done!

Moleskin:

Monday’s message was BE PRESENT – avoid distractions and have intentional time with loved ones and friends.  Wednesday’s message was seeing Serenity – Peace in the storm in life.  Today, we bring it all home by challenging ourselves to LOOK, LISTEN and LOVE.  Be present with those who are around you.  LOOK for those who might need someone to lean in on.  Be the leader we are called to me and lead these men to a better place.  Clear your mind (seek Serenity) and LISTEN to the men around you.  Truly digest all that they are seeing, and in the end, LOVE on these men.  This is how a leader can be a truly virtuous leader.  Example, reach out to a fellow pax who might have said something in passing at the workout or throughout the week..follow up a few days later checking in on that man.  This is one way to show this love.

One of the greatest characteristic of a true virtuous leader is one that LOVES his followers.  I challenge you all to LOOK – LISTEN and LOVE!!

Aye!

Always an honor to lead this great group of men.
