5:15 = (5) core principles, then YHC’s (Bad Clown Friday site Q) diatribe on incentivizing those that sign up to Q (award pax that sign up for Bad Clown Friday Q with xx burpees – 15 awarded to Cat 5 and 25 to Chilipepper for taking 19-AUG and 26-AUG). No more pax took the remaining 2 Q’s, so YHC turned to disincentives, and that didn’t work either. So, YHC took this Q and carried out the threat…. See Message below.
Warm up = disincentives
Hard start with 25 burpees each pax. Teams of 3. When each individual pax on the team finished, help your teammate. When the team finished with their 75, help other teams. Mosey a good distance to the new 5 O Donut Co around the corner from Target facing University. Some butt kickers, high knees and nur enroute (watch out for those tricky manhole covers, Ripken!). At 5 O, we know that just thinking about donuts will make us gain weight, so — 25 more burpees. Mosey back to the green turf. Circle up. Michael Phelps, Agitators, thanks to Jimmy Dean for leading us through bad back stretches. Finally (10) Moguls – if you don’t know what it is, you’ll find out about this arm and upper body punishment soon enough… 🙂
The same 7-11 board from YHC”s last Q a few weeks back. Numbers were added to each set of the (9) 7-11’s, and they would be competed in order. The dreaded burpee/flutter kick 7-11 is @ #6. The starting set today would be provided by Siri, who was asked for a random number between 1 and 9; Siri returned #5, so (45) burpees were secured!!
As further DISincentive, the pax were punished with SXM “Yacht Rock Radio”, a painful plethora of 70’s soft rock that you can’t not listen to. However, it’s not the most motivating soundtrack for a tough beatdown.
3 sets of 7-11’s were completed:
- Imperial Walkers / Name Yer Pain (pax name start with “D” and up; Drake chose Big Boys)
- Burpees / Flutter Kicks
- Shoulder Taps / Jump Squats
YHC threw in (5) more burpees to get to (100) for the beatdown.

Airwolf very appropriately noted earlier this week that taking Q’s is an opportunity for leadership development. Pax should NOT be incentivized and/or DIS incentivized for NOT filling up the Q sheet. Empty Q slots is an indication that this volunteer organization is not working. Pax should be fighting over Q’s to hone their leadership skills. Pax NEED to step up and take the lead, YHC included. It’s not hard. Cat 5 asked for one of YHC’s prior workouts; it was sent to him and he will modify and use later this month. It’s not hard to Q. Hard truths here, pax. Contact YHC about any issues you’d like to resolve so you can Q. There is a library of workouts available to use as is, or modify. If it’s a repeat, no one really cares – pax just want a good workout for 45 minutes. Also, I have a DISincentive I’m holding back that is so disturbing, it makes me shudder when I think about it. PAX – LET’S MAKE THIS WORK!!
