The parking lot was filling up nicely for a Monday morning, and it was time to share the disclaimer, core principles and mission statement and we were off for a 2 lap mosi.  Second lap included Carioca, High Knees and butt kickers, ending in the rink for the duration of the beatdown.

The Thang:

Always a favorite of YHC, the rink provides for great opportunity to do a starfish designed beatdown.  A series of exercises in each faceoff circle with a specific mode of transportation.  It was encouraged to get deep into the circle versus doing the bare minimum upon entry. Enough said.

The rounds included:

  • Merkins x10/Crabwalk
  • Big Boy Sit-ups x10/Bear Crawl
  • Squats x10/Duck Walk
  • Merkins x10 (I know, more points)/Run

Once you were complete with your sets, run laps around the rink until the 6 was in.  Yes, running, more points.

With time remaining, we wall sat with various arm positions, bear crawled to the other side of the rink for some BTTW x2 and bear crawl back.

With moments remaining, it was time for a round of Mary to be stated to standard, with the correct commands and call for execution.  Included in ROM was:

  1. Burpees
  2. Monkey Humpers
  3. Freddie Mercury
  4. Dead Bugs
  5. Big Boy Sit-ups
  6. And possibly a few others

A moment of silence was held in honor of the Police officer who lost their life in California on Saturday.
