The BackBlast:

Today was a double birthday Q, but Defib had to keep the hospital running so YHC got the honor of leading the Pax through a series of ridiculous exercises and embarrassing moments.  With one of us turning 51 and the other turning 36, we used those numbers frequently as a reminder in case someone still needed to do some gift shopping.

Pincher took Enron, Fireball and Crabcakes on a 12 mile “warmup” run.  There was a dog incident, ask Fireball.

After perfectly reciting the mission statement and the 5 core principals, we headed to the bball court.  There we performed a set of SHH with a rapidly accelerating pace to 51.  We then mozy’d to the bridge with a few stops along the way.  At the bridge, we did 36 bridge rows and 20 calf raises in cadence. On the mozy back, we had a couple pain stops and returned to the bball court.

The entree was to have 3 exercises, with a run to the fence between each.  Each exercise was to a count of 87 (51+36).  It was planned to do 3 exercises to a count of 51, then also 36, but those had to be shortened.  In the first series we got in overhead claps, flutter kicks and LBCs to 87 each.  They 51 merkins and 36 big boys.

The dessert was payback.  Being Nantan really cuts into the time to play golf.  YHC needed to work on his game, and the Pax needed to payback.  As the Nantan teed up hard foam golf balls, the Pax took to the field to play fetch.  As balls were launched, the Pax fought to catch them.  If you got a ball, you were done, if not you did a burpee.  This continued until everyone got a ball and the Nantan got in about 20 good practice swings…some bombs and a few worm burners.

Lastly, Enron put us in formation to prep for the 9/11 workout.  We improved our cadence and learn a bit of military jargon.  There is no doubt that we will make an impact and honor those fallen at our 9/11 workout.  Make sure you EH some friends and co-workers.  Meet at 8:00 at Dillards.  Wear a black F3 shirt (or black shirt if you don’t have one).

Praises for Drake’s ex-wife and her Covid recovery.  Praises for the other Pax recoveries.  Praises that we had great weather, a great turnout and a great country to call home.  Prayers for Drake’s sister-in-law, Snapshots family member and all those in thankless jobs that keep us going strong.

Ripken out.
