The BackBlast:

Weather: Upper 60s

5:15a struck and the pax were informed that YHC had Q on both the Ruck and Bootcamp because Kotter was in the smartsack battling a bug.  It was time to share the load as the pax were instructed to partner up with someone who has a ruck.  Mission statement, core principles and a RULE was declared.  Anytime a ruck touched the ground, 5 burpees for ALL!  We must hold everyone accountable for our actions.

Mosi ensued along with a quick COP including:

  • SSH x10 IC
  • Windmills x10 IC

And it was time to share the load….first up was a round of Catch Me If You Can.  Partner 1 without ruck does 10 LBCs and 10 Merkins and then sprints up to Partner 2 and transitions the ruck. During the ruck transition phase, both partners do 20 squats…at the midpoint, the ruck transfers partners so each does 10 with the ruck during the transition.  This continued for 8 rounds.  A few ruck drops happened, or intentionally happened and burpees happened.

Round 2 was a Dora in front of Big Paws.  Ruck stays in front of Big Paws while Partner 1 does the exercise with the ruck and partner 2 runs a lap around the parked cars.  The following ruck exercises were performed with a cumulative count:

  • 100 Bent Over Rows
  • 150 Ruck Swings
  • 200 LBCs

Once complete, the pax helped pick up the 6 until 6a rang.

Announcements:

  • Ragnar help needed
  • Needs for volunteers at VMA Saturday

Prayers/Praises

  • Flip – Spartan’s friend in a coma
  • Condenser and his family
  • All other mentioned and unmentioned prayers

Final prayer was asking for the guidance and strength to show us who we need to share the load with in our daily lives.  Helping others understand that their burdens might in fact be blessings.  Find those opportunities and be strong for others.
