At 7:00 the five core principles and disclaimer were given. We welcomed our newest PAX Diego, Joyride, to this mornings beatdown. We then took off for a short mosey that finished at the playground for some SSH, Windmills and Strawberries. The following was then read to the PAX.
A teenage gunman entranced by a white supremacist ideology known as replacement theory, opened fire at a supermarket in Buffalo NY on Saturday, May 14, methodically shooting and killing 10 people and injuring three more, almost all of them Black, in one of the deadliest racist massacres in recent American history.
These are the names of the victims that died:
Geraldine Talley of Buffalo, 62
Celestine Chaney of Buffalo, 65
Heyward Patterson of Buffalo, 67
Katherine Massey of Buffalo, 72
Pearl Young of Buffalo, 77
Ruth Whitfield of Buffalo, 86
Roberta A. Drury of Buffalo, 32
Margus D. Morrison of Buffalo, 52
Andre Mackneil of Auburn, 53
Aaron Salter of Lockport, 55
The three survivors are:
Zaire Goodman, 20
Jennifer Warrington, 50

Moment of silence.
There were two stations, one in the echo chamber and one on the basketball court, with five names of the victims at each location. There was also a alphabet with an excersise next to each letter. The PAX split into two groups and headed to the Echo Chamber where YHC instructed the PAX to do the excercise of each letter of the first names of the victims. Once the name was finished, mosey to the other station and do the same thing. The goal was that all PAX would get through all of the names.
PRAYER FOR THE VICTIMS OF VIOLENCE
Loving God, you are the author and sustainer of our lives. You know the anguish of the sorrowful, you are attentive to the prayers of the brokenhearted. Hear your people who cry out to you in their need; strengthen their hope in your lasting goodness.
We pray today for those who have died because of violence, of terrorism. Draw them to yourself; let your face shine upon them. May they be greeted with choirs of angels and experience your eternal peace and joy.
Be near to all those who have been touched by violence: those who have been hurt, lost their loved ones or lost their sense of security. Be for them a steady comfort and safe resting place.
Soften the hearts and steady of the minds of those who would do violence to others. May hate be replaced with love, violence with peace and darkness with your light.
