While 10 hearty pax showed up to the spectacle of Ripken leading yoga, 278 other pax chose to fartsack, or worse….go to the gym (oh, the humanity!).   YHC was one of those gym rats lately due to Ironman training, but promised to be back, even if it was to make others due the first day of the training taper with me.

Honestly, being Q is where it’s at. If you don’t Q, you’re missing out.  Being a leader is about being out front.  You can either choose to be one of the few men/dads/fathers in this world who leads others to better places or be a lemming that just plays along.  You pick.

Today’s workout seemed sheepish until it was over and most of the pax was in a full-on flop sweat.  YHC had close to 400 calories burned on the watch.  Not bad for Broga.

We announced the 5CP and did a lap mozy to get the blood flowing.  This was followed by several yoga sets.  Each set ending in a 1 minute plank and a 30 second low merkin hold.  That will get the arms shaking and the sweating pouring off your nose and elbows.  We then ran to the end of the lot and back each time.

Set 1 – 3 Sun Salutations

Set 2 – Sun Salutation, Warrior 1, 2, 3, Half Moon and reverse warrior.  Half Moon was a bit advanced, but we tamed it.

Set 3  – Same as 2 but other side.

Set 4 – Sun Salutation, 3 Forward Folds, 2 L/R Triangles

Set 5 – Sun Salutation, 3 Wide Folds, 2 L/R Angles

Set 6 – Sun Salutation, 90/90 with twist, Cat/Cow/Frog

Set 7 – Standing Splits

Announcements: Laps for Life date moved to Oct 16th, Alzheimers Walk on 10/29, Wildpax is filling up and food/games are coming together.

Praises: Ripken’s dad moved from ICU after doctor saying it would be a “terminal event.”

Prayers: Teletubby’s parental decisions, Ripken’s father, Sir Wallace’s friend, First Responders
