The BackBlast:

Weather: 69 nice degrees with outer outer bands of tropical storm winds

After months and months of running, biking and swimming a lot (so I’m told), Pincher made a triumphant return to Dixieland. Not that anyone should be particularly proud of anything that happens in the parking lot of a Winn Dixie, but it was good to have him back regardless. With him and Ripken already there by the time YHC pulled up, the shenanigans were well underway. Fireball and Gold Watch got there on time, then Trump rolled in a minute late and did something that sort of resembled a burpee. It would have given Chili Pepper massive convulsions if he was there to see it.

No mozi so we launched right into the COP with SSH, Michael Phelps, strawberry pickers, Moroccan nightclubs, arm circles and maybe some other things. No one remembers. It was then on to this morning’s version of the 4 corners. The timer was set for 60 seconds of doing the exercise at that corner (AMRAP), with 45 seconds to take the designated mode of transportation to the next corner. Rinse & repeat that a bunch of times. The exercises were:

Corner 1:

  • Merkins
  • Carolina drydocks
  • Wide merkins
  • Overhead claps
  • Hand release merkins
  • Mode of transport to corner 2: Nur

Corner 2:

  • Plank jacks
  • Peter Parker
  • Parker Peter
  • Evander Holyfield
  • Mountain climbers
  • Mode of transport to corner 3: carioca

Corner 3:

  • Gas pumps
  • Freddie Mercury
  • Crunchy frogs
  • Hello Dolly
  • LBCs
  • Mode of transport to corner 4: Nur

Corner 4:

  • Salsa dips
  • American hammers
  • Lunges
  • Leg raises
  • Calf raises
  • Mode of transport to corner 1: side shuffle

The good thing about a workout where no one has to count reps is that it leaves plenty of creativity for mumble chatter, not all of it pleasant. During the gas pumps, Ripken set a goal of not leaving for the bathroom before Trump, because if you set your goals really low, you’ll always reach them (and he did).

We had a minute left for a Round of Mary, but all we got to was Pincher leading a set of SSH. Luckily he stopped at 20 because he was tired for some reason.
