It was great to hear of some of the mumblechatter the night before about a few new guys to come and ruck with us…and one who hasn’t rucked since GTE 18 (assuming). Welcome Pusher and Yamaha to Hard Knox University Ruck – sorry to let you down that we weren’t just going for a walk in the park..and yes, a WOD sure does feel like a bootcamp, just with an added ruck.
We mosied for a warm up with a stop to do the following:
- Low Slow Squat x10IC
- Over head press x10IC
- Ruck Curls x10IC
The final mosi took us over to the lot in front of Sherman Williams Paint for our WOD….this included:
- 10 Ruck Merkins
- 20 Squats
- 10 Ruck Merkins
- 20 Ruck Swings
- Quick walk to the end of the lot and return
- Rinse and Repeat x4 for time (which we really didn’t press the time issue)
It was during the WOD that Yamaha declared this was just like a bootcamp, but with a ruck on…and that he and Pusher were expecting just a walk..sorry to disappoint, but also glad to hear you will be back.
In order to satisfy the need for a walk in the park, the reigns were handed over to Cavallino for the remaining 19 minutes for his Ferrari paced ruck walk. Condenser and Kotter and YHC kept up with him while Yamaha, Pusher and Sonic Boom pushed their own pace.
As the time neared the end, we regrouped with the bootcampers for a few rounds of mary.
Announcements:
- Sonic Boom is looking for a lunch date and apparently Cavallino has a tether on that doesn’t allow him outside of LWR
- 2nd F dinner coming soon – just no idea – sorry guys…had such a great time last time we need to do this again soon.
Prayers/Praises:
- Pincher – Praise for the hard work put into training for the Ironman this week – prayers for safe travels
- All other prayers and praises likely to be added to Spamalot’s backblast because he was recording it.
Always an honor to lead such a great group of men..and love having such a good size crew for the ruck beatdown.
