Before you reach any judgments about what you’re about to read, keep in mind that it was all for charity.

A few months ago, Rowdy and YHC came up with the brilliant idea of leading teams to benefit the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Since we’re not able to do this event the normal way (thousands of people all gathered in one place, for those of you who remember those days) teams got their choice of where and when to do their walk. This being F3, just walking wasn’t going to be enough, so Rowdy had the even better idea of turning it into a ruck / CSAUP.

So while some of us just brought rucks, Rowdy came prepared with coupons, a sledgehammer, and some 30-pound weight you can tie to your waist and drag along the ground (Goob seemed to enjoy this a lot for some reason). We started at the Pavilion and took the trail out to Lorraine Road and back, which is about 1.1 miles each way. And oh yeah, we picked up 2 of the big tires to make sure that absolutely no one got bored.

Unlike a normal event, where there would be others around to police our behavior, we made sure that the trek involved plenty of debauchery. Just keeping the tires on the path was enough of a challenge, but apparently Bing told Lancelot that part of his new Troubadour duties included getting inside the big tire and playing the role of a hamster. To no one’s surprise, he proved to be quite good at it. If you don’t believe me, I have video. He also tried walking on top of the tire, which didn’t go quite as well, but again there’s video. No Lancelots or hamsters were injured in the making of those videos. The 2.0s also got to do the hamster thing but it wasn’t anywhere as entertaining. The whole thing took about an hour and we got back to the Echo Chamber in time for the COT.

Remember, that 95% of your donations go to the Association’s programming, which is incredibly low for such a big organization.

Next year, we might be still doing the whole virtual thing again, but whatever it is, F3 will do it bigger and better. Thanks to everyone for their support.
