The BackBlast:
A beautifully balmy Tuesday morning with a truly magnificent 7, trying to honor the great Italian Stallion in the Dillard’s parking lot due to the circus going at NBP.
Quickly went thru the 5 core principles and a morning greeting, followed by a gentle mosey to the rear lot of Dillard’s as our warmup.
THE THANG
Start at the top of the hill sidewalk behind Dillard’s, jog/run downhill to the first island to perform 20 squats/lunges, then to the 2nd island to perform 20 curbkins/merkins, then to the 3rd island for 20 mountain climbers/peter parkers/Parker peters (20 assumes each side). The 3rd island is at the bottom of the hill next to a stop sign stripe….The final step in the circuit is to travel as fast as possible from the stop sign all the way up the hill to the handicap parking spots at the top of the hill, ending the journey with 20 Balboas each side (Toe taps on the curb with one foot and then the other as fast as you can with arms raised in victory)
Got thru 5 circuits before a mosey back to the front lot of Dillard’s. Had time left so we proceeded to travel in a loop around the large dividers while calling out exercise audibles at random (merkins, dirty hookups, balboas, NUR, high skips, lunges, squats).
Circled up for some penguins, Holyfields, leg raises, and a pushup waterfall around the circle 5x. Finished with some call-outs from the other men (Dying Cockroach from Papa Smurf, 30/60/90 from Snapshot, and some more torture I can’t remember due to blocking out the pain)

COT:
Prayers for the men in our group as a whole for health, Mrs Doubtfire surgery, Usher’s friend Pete, and for all of us to choose to embrace health by aligning with God’s wisdom and creation in all things.
Quick encouragement that although things are not always “fault”, they are still our “responsibility”. A massive part of this is being prepared practically so we are ready to pick up the slack when needed. Challenge: Always have a BD in your back pocket…a simple way to practice preparedness for leadership.
Thank you to all who came out and pushed the pace!
