64 degrees and FOGGY. YHC arrived at 5:05. The fog was so thick you could see the water droplets floating through the air.
I knew Clutch was somewhere in the mist on his pre run…honestly he could have been in the parking lot 10 feet away but I couldnt see that far.
5 more pax rolled in and 5:15 was upon us.
5 core principles
Disclaimer and off for a mozi.
Carioca left, then right and nur across the bridge back to the parking lot.
10x SSHÂ
10x Strawberry pickers
Bad back stretches
We were off to the bridge for some fun.
With an odd number of Pax we paired up and YHC went solo.
Dora time! 3 excerices while the partner pax ran across the bridge, perfomed 5 burpess (yes, even in February) and came back to tag out.
Carolina Dry Docks 100x
LBC’s 150x
Squats 200x
The pax passed with flying colors so we continued to round number two
Same principal (omit burpees), different excerises… this time using the acronym F.O.G since it was so thick.
Freddy Mercury’s 100x
Overhead Claps 150x
Gas Pumps 200x
For the last 5 minutes a Round of Mary which included lots of abs!
American Hammers, more freddie mercury’s, 30,60,90’s and a few others ending with Impreial Walkers.
A quick stretch and back to the parking lot.
At 5:59 and change we circled up and YCH delivered the montra of the day.
I had been working through some leadership training at work and something that struck me in my journey was Motivation VS Manipulation.
As leaders, whether at home, work, on the field etc,.. its our job to MOTIVATE… not MANIPULATE.
The definition of manipulation is to control or influence unfairly, or unscrupulously. To Motivate is to stimulate interest of enthusiasm.
F3 in itself is a motivator. We dont show up at your door and drag you out of the fartsack, and force you to show up. But its the fellowship that motivates us to show up. Throughout the beatdown pax motivate each other with jokes, breaking stones and ecouragement.
In business and in life it can be tough to lead through difficult and uncertain times. In those times it can be easy to try and manipulate people and process to achieve a desired outcome. While that may work in the short term…I promise you that motivating fellow co-workers, subodiantes, children, etc will pay long term dividends.
Something to think about
