The BackBlast:
It looked like we might have a window of opportunity to get the run in between thunderstorms, so 5 hardy souls showed up.
Lightning was active in the distance, but being the optimists that we are, assumed it was moving away.
5 Core principles were shared, and the plan revealed. Cavallino opted to ruck this gloom.
We started off into the neighborhood for the warm-up jog but less than a mile in decided that the lightning, while spectacular, was also a little too close for comfort. We rounded up our lone rucker and headed back to the parking lot. Enron’s running Q will have to wait for the August date…
COT:

“Keep your head on a swivel” – we were always told that in the Army as a reminder to maintain awareness of our surroundings at all times. Application here is to pay attention to your brothers – always be looking for an opportunity to support, chat, or offer a shoulder. As men, we don’t always ask for help when we need it, but sometimes a genuine “how are you doing?” gives us an opening to talk, vent, or ask for help.
’til next time – Enron out
