On a Good Friday, we got a late start at 5:16! A hardy group of HC pax gathered in the parking lot of Benderson for a roundup of wearing proportions. The teaser was a relaxed morning in preparation for our 1st Anniversary meetup tomorrow. The teaser was actually proven to be incorrect.
Is it mosi or mozy? We took a quick loosening up run around the loop. The usual high knees, karaoke and such. But Q learned a new thing. The NUR, which is run backwards.
We headed down to the Benderson tower, nicely cleaned for the weekend. We took a look at the benches, of which there were about 36. Pax asked many questions about the idea of the exercise. Namely, you get to do one pushup from the bench, and add one pushup on each bench, running around the bench between each. Such a simple direction, but it involved much confusion and arm ache.
The reality? All pax should be able to do 100 of these puppies in their sleep.
At around 20, some pax asked for mercy and modification. The change up? We started again at 1, and then worked back up til the benches were finished.
Some of the intrepid did laps in between, having extra energy. Some did giant laps. A route is in the picture. It looks like a dead appendix with the loops.
The group finished up around 5:45, which was not enough time to do a second run. The answer? Either lunge back or sprint back.
After the run, we did a round of Marys, including a new exercise called a jumping jack! Glad to try out that classic.
Prayers were offered after for the upcoming anniversary, and Backdraft’s boss.
The morning was epic. And no stairs.
